In 1979, with degrees from Harvard Business School and Claremont McKenna College, DeWalt Brown combined his passion for human rights and dignity with his entrepreneurial savvy and founded Pasa Alta Manor. From its beginning, Pasa Alta Manor was set apart from other mental health facilities because of its three guiding principles:
